MADISON, S.D. – Nationally-ranked Bellevue (Neb.) outhit Dakota State (S.D.) 47-15 in the North Star Athletic Association Volleyball match at Gordon Lozier Center Tuesday evening, earning a 3-0 sweep over the Trojans.  The Bruins won by the scores of 25-12, 25-9 and 25-16.

Dakota State fell to 11-19 overall record and 5-9 NSAA conference record.  Bellevue, who is ranked No. 17 in the new edition of the NAIA's Top 25 national poll this afternoon, raised their overall record to 28-9 and finished their NSAA conference schedule with a 13-3 record.

BU hit .515 (20 kills with 3 errors in 33 attempts) to cruise for a 25-12 set one victory over DSU.  The Trojans hit .121 (7 kills with 3 errors in 33 attempts).

Leading 5-4 in the second set, the Bruins closed the set with a 20-5 run for a 25-9 victory to take a 2-0 match lead.

Bellevue sealed the match by winning the third set at 25-16 after outhitting Dakota State 17-6.

Clarissa Blick smashed seven kills for the Trojans.  Taylor Stratton and Tessa Weeldreyer each added three kills.  McKenna DeMoe collected six assists and five digs.  Kaylee Vander Wal registered five assists.

Chelsey Davis and Blick each led DSU's defense with nine digs.  Davis had a service ace.  Hannah Bauer added six digs.  Carly Rozell and Weeldreyer each had a block assit.

Mikaylah Gillespie and Michaela Gardner each led the Bruins with eight kills.  Pakalana Helekahi, Marylyn Mozena, Shayla Scanlan and Hope Lambrecht each had five kills.  Maddie Squiers produced a match-high 38 assists and four service aces.  Taylor Holz recorded 14 digs.  Gillespie had four block assists.

Bellevue hit .337 in the match with 47 kills and committed 14 errors in 98 attempts.  Dakota State recorded. 000 hitting efficiency with 15 kills and 15 errors in 92 attempts. 

Dakota State remains on the road as they face another NAIA's nationally-ranked team for the third straight match.  The Trojans visit No. 3-ranked Viterbo (Wis.) Friday evening at Viterbo OAC.  First serve is set for 7 p.m. in La Crosse, Wis.
