· The Dakota State University men's basketball team (9-11 overall record, 3-5 North Star conference record) looks to bounce back in the winning column as they return back home with a pair of North Star Athletic Association conference games at DSU Fieldhouse.

· The Trojans kick off the second-half portion of the North Star conference schedule versus Jamestown (N.D.) (10-11, 3-5 NSAA) on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m.

· DSU continues their NSAA action Saturday evening as they host Presentation (S.D.) (8-11, 2-6 NSAA).  Tip-off is slated for 5 p.m.


· Dakota State (S.D.) will provide a free live video and audio broadcast of the Trojan men's basketball games on Friday and Saturday.

· Make sure to save your dates for a couple upcoming events at DSU Fieldhouse in February when the Trojans conclude their regular-season with a four-game home stand.

· The DSU Trojan men's basketball team will be holding their Parents' Night on Saturday, Feb. 11 versus Valley City State (N.D.).

· Senior Night will be held on Saturday, Feb. 18 as Dakota State (S.D.) hosts Mayville State (N.D.) in the regular-season finale at DSU Fieldhouse.


· After Dakota State (S.D.) took a 68-67 lead late in the second-half on Jan. 14, No. 22-ranked Bellevue (Neb.) shut down the Trojans 11-0 in the final 4:23 of the game to earn a 78-68 North Star conference victory in Bellevue, Neb.

· The Trojans' season-high four-game winning streak was halted, while the Bruins extended their winning streak to eight games.

· Both teams went through five ties and two lead changes in the first eight-plus minutes of the game.

· Leading 22-21, the Trojans went on to score nine straight points to earn the first double-digit lead of the game at 31-21 after a 3-pointer by Brendon Boomsma with 6:46 left in the first-half.

· Kyle Kilgore completed a 3-point play with 5:11 remaining before intermission, giving the Trojans its biggest lead of the game at 36-24.

· Bellevue would close the first-half with a 14-7 scoring run as Dakota State held a 43-38 halftime advantage.

· DSU maintained their lead in the second-half before BU rallied back to tie the game at 53-53 with 12:57 left.

· Both teams traded leads or tied the game for a span of nine minutes before the Bruins shut down the Trojans down the stretch.

· The Trojans missed its final eight shots of the game as the Bruins secured the victory.

· BU outscored DSU 40-25 in the second-half.  There were eight ties and nine lead changes in the game.

· Kilgore poured in a season-high 27 points for the Trojans.  He was 11-of-16 from the field and made all five free-throw attempts.  Tanner Heiser added nine points.  Kevin Daniels had eight points.

· Kilgore had eight rebounds and three blocked shots for DSU.  Bobby Farquah registered seven rebounds.

· DSU shot 49.2 percent in the game compared to BU 46.7 percent.  The Bruins were 17-of-29 free-throws, while the Trojans were 8-of-11.


· Dakota State (S.D.) and Jamestown (N.D.) had met in the conference tournament's championship game in the last five  years, with the Trojans winning four times.

· The Trojans defeated the Jimmies in the last two years in the North Star Athletic Association conference championship game, winning 79-65 on Feb. 29, 2016 at DSU Fieldhouse and  66-65 thriller at Civic Center on March 3, 2015.

· DSU and UJ met in the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Championship game for two straight years in 2012 and 2013.

· Jamestown won the last meeting with Dakota State in a 90-81 double-overtime thriller at the Civic Center on Dec. 4.

· The Jimmies' snapped the Trojans' four-game winning streak in the series meeting in the last meeting at Jamestown, N.D.


· Dakota State (S.D.) will be playing six of the last eight North Star conference games at DSU Fieldhouse.

· While the Trojans only play two home North Star conference games this month, DSU will conclude their North Star conference schedule with a four-game home stand in February.

· Dakota State will play only two road games on their second-half portion of the NSAA conference schedule.  The Trojans are scheduled to travel to Waldorf (Iowa) on Feb. 3 and Viterbo (Wis.) on Feb. 4.

· DSU's home games on their second-half of the North Star schedule include, UJ, PC, DiSU, VCSU, BU and MSU.


· Points:  Kyle Kilgore—284 points (17.8 points per game)

· Field Goal Percentage:  Justin Folkers—62.3 percent (96-of-154 field goals)

· 3-point Field Goal Percentage:  Tanner Heiser—38.2 percent (50-of-131 3-point field goals)

· Free-throw percentage:  Kevin Daniels—81.3 percent (39-of-48 free-throws)

· Rebounds:  Kyle Kilgore—130 rebounds (8.1 rebounds per game)

· Assists:  Tanner Heiser—76 assists—(3.8 assists per game)

· Steals:  Tanner Heiser—30 steals (1.5 steals per game)

· Blocked shots:  Kyle Kilgore—11 blocks (0.7 blocked shots per game)


· According to the NAIA-DakStats statistical website as of Wednesday, Dakota State (S.D.) ranks 19th in the nation in assist/turnover ratio of 1.3.

· DSU ranks 45th in the nation in total assists with 300 assists and 49th in total assists per game with an average of 5.8.

· Kyle Kilgore is 30th in the nation in field goal percentage (57.8).  He also ranks 40th in the nation in total rebounds per game (8.1).  He is 42nd in defensive rebounds per game (5.7).
