MADISON, S.D. – Dakota State (S.D.) opened up the game by scoring the first 10 points Saturday afternoon, and never looked back as the Lady T's defeated Presentation (S.D.) 75-58 in the North Star Athletic Association Women's Basketball conference contest at DSU Fieldhouse.  DSU shot a season-high 45.5 percent from the field and never trailed in the game.

Dakota State improved their overall record to 5-16 and is 3-1 record at home in North Star Athletic Association conference games.  Presentation lost their fourth straight game, falling to 6-16 overall record.  Both teams are currently tied for sixth-place in the North Star conference standings with a 3-7 record.

The Saints missed the first five shots of the game, allowing the Lady T's to score 10 straight points from three different scorers – BreeAna Olson, Kennedy Wagner and Jamie Tebben.  DSU led 10-0 with seven minutes and five seconds on the clock in the first period.

PC ended their scoring drought with 6:51 left in the opening quarter after a basket by Cora Lopez (DSU leads 10-2).

The Lady T's continued its scoring outburst to its biggest lead of the first quarter at 23-4 with 3:14 left after Olson's field goal.

DSU ended the first quarter with a 25-13 lead, thanks to a sizzling 57.9 field goal percentage (11-of-19 field goals) in the first ten minutes of the game.  PC was held to 26.3 percent field goal shooting, making 5 baskets in 19 tries.

Presentation answered back by using a 10-2 scoring run to cut DSU's lead down to 27-23 with 3:52 to go in the second quarter. 

Wagner nailed down a 3-pointer with just five seconds left before halftime, giving DSU a 39-30 lead.  The Lady T's were 44.4 percent from the field (16-of-36) in the first-half, while the Saints were 30.8 percent from the field (12-of-39).

Dakota State maintained their lead between 6- and 13-points for the majority of the third quarter.  Wagner made a field goal with just less than a tick away before the end of the third period as the Lady T's ballooned their lead to 57-42.  DSU outscored PC 18-12 in the third quarter.

The Lady T's controlled the final quarter with a double-digit lead.  DSU registered its biggest lead of the game at 67-47 after a field goal by Shelby Vogel with 4:41 remaining.

Olson led Dakota State with a game-high 20 points.  She was 8-of-15 from the field and made all three free-throw attempts.  Wagner added 19 points, where she was 5-of-6 from the 3-point line.  Kelley Criddle went perfect 8-of-8 from the field (tied for fourth best field goal percentage – by field goal attempts – in a single game in Lady T's basketball record book) for a career-high 16 points off the bench.

Tebben and Shemika Frazier each added six points for the Lady T's.  Britley Plautz and Vogel each had four points.

Plautz grabbed nine rebounds for DSU.  Wagner, Olson and Vogel each added six rebounds.  Tebben, Kelsey Poppen and Criddle each had four rebounds.

DSU's Wagner dished out four assists.  Olson and Frazier each had three assists.  Olson stole the ball four times.  Wagner had three steals.

Macy Toelle scored 13 points for the Saints.  Lopez posted a double-double of 12 points and earned 15 rebounds.  Sydney Larson had 12 points and 8 rebounds.

Lee Lee Tomlinson produced four assists for PC.  Krystan Gomez added eight points and three assists.

Dakota State shot 30-of-66 from the field compared to Presentation 23-of-73 field goals (31.5 percent).  PC was 8-of-28 from the 3-point line, while DSU was 6-of-18 3-pointers.

The Lady T's converted 9-of-15 free-throws.  The Saints were 4-of-6 free-throws.

DSU outrebounded PC 46-44 in the game.  The Lady T's outscored the Saints 13-8 in second-chance points, 26-13 in bench points and 32-24 inside the paint.

Dakota State will take a week off from North Star Athletic Association conference play as they play a pair of non-conference games on the road next week.  The Lady T's head on the road Thursday evening, visiting College of Saint Mary (Neb.).  Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. at Lied Activity Center in Omaha, Neb.

Presentation returns home on Friday (Jan. 27) as they host Bellevue (Neb.) in the North Star conference contest at Strode Center.  The game is slated for 5:30 p.m. in Aberdeen, S.D.
