OMAHA, Neb. – Dakota State (S.D.) stormed to a double-digit lead over College of Saint Mary (Neb.) Thursday evening in a non-conference women's basketball game at Lied Fitness Center.  The Lady T's maintained their double-digit lead for the rest of the game, cruising to an 82-71 victory over the Flames.

It was the second straight victory for Dakota State, improving their overall record to 6-16.  College of Saint Mary, a member of the Great Plains Athletic Conference, fell to 5-17 overall record and lost their seventh straight game.

The Lady T's used their fast start for the second straight game, hitting 4-of-5 from the field and 3-of-4 from the free-throw line to grab a 14-1 lead over the Flames with six minutes and forty-one seconds on the clock in the first period.  CSM missed their first five shots of the game.

It was DSU for the rest of the game, holding a double-digit lead for the majority of the game.  The Lady T's shot 52.6 percent from the field (10-of-19 field goals) in the first quarter to earn a 27-16 lead.  The Flames were 33.3 percent from the field (5-of-15 field goals) in the first ten minutes of the game.

Dakota State outscored College of Saint Mary 15-7 in the first 5:27 of the second period to post the biggest lead of the game at 42-23.  The Lady T's also had a 19-point lead after a basket by Cassie Jones with 3:26 remaining in the first-half (DSU led 44-25).

The Lady T's held a 44-32 halftime advantage over the Flames.  DSU was 48.6 percent from the field in the first-half, converting 18 field goals in 37 tries.  Dakota State limited College of Saint Mary to 33.3 percent (11-of-33 field goals).

CSM trimmed DSU's down to single-digit at 46-37 with 8:57 remaining in the third quarter, where DSU maintained their double-digit lead for the rest of the third period.  Dakota State led 62-50 after the third quarter, where the Lady T's and Flames each scored 18 points in the period.

The Flames could get no closer than eight points at 71-63 with 4:27 left in the game.  CSM outscored DSU 21-20 in the final quarter.

BreeAna Olson led the Lady T's with a game-high 22 points.  She was 10-of-12 from the free-throw line.  Kennedy Wagner added 16 points.  She converted a perfect 6-of-6 free-throws.  Jones scored 14 points (6-of-12 field goals).  Lindsey Vogl drained three 3-pointers for nine points off the bench.  Britley Plautz recorded eight points.

Kelley Criddle grabbed eight rebounds for Dakota State.  Wagner added six rebounds.  Plautz and Olson each had five rebounds.

Jones produced three assists for DSU.  She stole the ball four times.  Olson registered three steals.  Plautz had three blocked shots in the game.

Andrea Christensen scored 17 points on her 8-of-16 field goal shooting from the bench for CSM.  Miranda Acuna had 14 points.  Paige Muhammad had nine points.

Justice Ross collected 11 rebounds and contributed six assists for the Flames. 

Dakota State shot 43.8 percent overall from the field (28-of-64) compared to College of Saint Mary 37.3 percent (25-of-67).  CSM was 7-of-19 from the 3-point line, while DSU was 5-of-16 3-pointers.

The Lady T's made 21 free-throws in 25 attempts (84.0 percent).  The Flames were 14-of-19 free-throws (73.7 percent). 

DSU outrebounded CSM 41-33.

Dakota State closes out their non-conference schedule Sunday afternoon as they stay on the road.  The Lady T's visit another Great Plains Athletic Conference foe, traveling to the Cimpl Arena to take on in-state rival Mount Marty (S.D.).  Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. in Yankton, S.D.
