GAME NOTES (PDF)

THIS WEEK

· The Dakota State University (S.D.) Lady T's basketball team (6-17 overall record, 3-7 NSAA) returns back to North Star Athletic Association conference action this weekend.

· The Lady T's play their final two NSAA road games before wrapping up the regular-season with four North Star conference games at DSU Fieldhouse.

· DSU visits Waldorf (Iowa) (2-21, 0-11 NSAA) Friday evening.  Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. at Hanson Fieldhouse (106 S. 6th Street) in Forest City, Iowa.

· Dakota State travels to La Crosse, Wis. on Saturday afternoon to take on Viterbo (Wis.) (2-23, 1-10 NSAA).  The game is set for 4 p.m. at R.W. Beggs Senior Gymnasium (400 Viterbo Drive).

LADY T'S CLOSE OUT NON-CONFERENCE SCHEDULE WITH A SPLIT

· Dakota State (S.D.) split a pair of games to close out their non-conference schedule on the road last week.

· The Lady T's used a fast start, hitting 4-of-5 from the field and 3-of-4 free-throws to grab a 14-1 lead over College of Saint Mary (Neb.) at Lied Fitness Center on Jan. 26.

· It was DSU for the rest of the game, holding a double-digit lead for the majority of the game.  CSM could get no closer than eight points. 

· BreeAna Olson led the Lady T's with a game-high 22 points, where she was 10-of-12 from the free-throw line.  Kennedy Wagner added 16 points (6-of-6 free-throws).  Cassie Jones scored 14 points

· Lindsey Vogl drained three 3-pointers for nine points off the bench for DSU.  Britley Plautz had eight points, five rebounds and three blocks.

· Kelley Criddle grabbed eight rebounds for the Lady T's.  Jones dished out three assists and stole the ball four times.

· DSU shot 43.8 percent overall (28-of-64) compared to Flames 37.3 percent (25-of-67).

· The Lady T's could not hold on to their 23-21 halftime advantage at Mount Marty (S.D.) on Jan. 29.  The Lancers used their second-half surge to defeat DSU by the score of 63-55.

· Jamie Tebben scored a season-high 17 points off the bench for Dakota State.  She also pulled down eight rebounds in the game.

· Olson tallied 10 points for DSU.  Shelby Vogel recorded seven points.

· Criddle collected five rebounds for the Lady T's.  Wagner stole the ball twice.  Vogel, Jones and Vogl each produced three assists.

· Both teams struggled from the field, shooting below 40 percent.  MMC shot 34.5 percent overall (19-of-55), while DSU was 32.3 percent from the field (20-of-62).

· The Lady T's outscored the Lancers 27-5 in bench points.  MMC outrebounded DSU 43-39.

OLSON MOVES UP TO NO. 5 ALL-TIME SCORING

· BreeAna Olson moved up to No. 5 spot in the Lady T's Basketball all-time scoring list in the record book after the game on Sunday at Mount Marty (S.D.).

· She had scored 1,334 points in 115 career games at Dakota State (S.D.), surpassing Monica Matthies with 1,326 points from 1981-85.

· Olson scored 341 points this season in 23 games.  She had 372 points in her junior season (30 games), 340 points in her sophomore year (30 games) and 281 points in her freshman season (32 games) at DSU.

· Kylie Westover holds the fourth-most career points with 1,403 points from 2010-14 for the Lady T's.  Julie Fiegen holds the all-time Lady T's scoring with 1,637 points from 1982-86.

NSAA CONFERENCE STANDINGS UPDATE

· Jamestown (N.D.) remained undefeated in North Star conference play after rolling past Presentation (S.D.) 102-72.  UJ is 13-0 record in the NSAA.

· Dickinson State (N.D.) is second in the NSAA conference standings with 11-1 record, followed by Valley City State (N.D.) third with 8-3 record, Bellevue (Neb.) fourth 6-4 record and Mayville State (N.D.) fifth with 6-6 record.

· Dakota State (S.D.) is sixth with 3-7 NSAA record, while Presentation (S.D.) is seventh with 3-9 record.  Viterbo (Wis.) is eighth (1-10 NSAA) and Waldorf (Iowa) ninth (0-11 NSAA).

· The top eight teams in the conference standings will advance to the postseason conference tournament, with the first round at four higher seeds hosting the first round on Wednesday, Feb. 22.

DSU LADY T'S TEAM LEADERS

· Points:  BreeAna Olson—14.7 points per game (341 total points)

· Field Goal Percentage:  Lindsey Vogl—47.8 percent (33-of-69 field goals)

· 3-point Field Goal Percentage:  Lindsey Vogl—47.8 percent (22-of-46 3-point field goals)

· Free-throw percentage:  Kennedy Wagner—87.2 percent (68-of-78 free-throws)

· Rebounds:  Britley Plautz—153 rebounds (6.7 rebounds per game)

· Assists:  Kennedy Wagner—62 assists (2.8 assists per game)

· Steals:  BreeAna Olson—59 steals (2.6 steals per game—20th in the nation)

· Blocked shots:  Britley Plautz—50 blocked shots (2.2 blocked shots per game)

DSU IN THE RANKS

· According to the DakStats-NAIA statistical website as of Wednesday, Dakota State (S.D.) ranks second in total blocks (116) and third in blocks per game (5.0).

· Britley Plautz is third in the NAIA with 50 blocks and fifth in blocks per game (2.2) for the Lady T's.

· Kennedy Wagner ranks 11th in the nation in free-throw percentage, converting 68 free-throws in 78 tries for a percentage of 87.2 percent for DSU.
