Heiser – 6-footer guard – averaged 27.0 points, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals as the Trojans went 1-1 record for the week.  He went monstrous beyond the 3-point line, where he drained a total of 15 3-pointers in 23 attempts (65.2 percent) last weekend on the road.  He finished the week by shooting a blazing 63.3 percent from the field (19-of-30 field goals).

Heiser poured in 35 points in DSU's 90-55 road victory at Waldorf (Iowa) on Feb. 3.  He tied his career-high points, where he also scored 35 points during Trojans' 90-89 victory over Northwestern (Iowa) on Oct. 27.

Heiser was 12-of-17 from the field in the game versus WU, including making 11 3-pointers in 16 tries.  He broke a 30-year old school record for most 3-pointers made in a game with 11, previously held by Rick Dunlap with 10 3-pointers in a game versus Dordt (Iowa) during the 1986-87 season.  Dakota State also tied a team record for making the most 3-pointers in a game with 19 (last time was on Nov. 6 when the Trojans defeated Mount Marty, S.D. 98-78 at the Sanford Pentagon).

Heiser's 11 3-pointers also tied for the most 3-pointers made in a game in the NAIA Division II with five other players.

He also had 19 points on his 7-of-13 field goal shooting and 4-of-7 from the 3-point line for the Trojans, falling short on the road at Viterbo (Wis.) on Feb. 4.  He also had 5 assists, 2 rebounds and 2 steals in the game.

According to the DakStats-NAIA statistical website as of Monday, Heiser ranks 16th in the nation in total steals with 48 and 26th in steals per game with an average of 1.8 steals.  He also ranks 28th in total 3-pointers made with 71, 31st in total assists with 111, 35th in 3-point field goals made per game (2.7) and 39th in assists per game (4.3).

Heiser is currently sixth in the Trojan men's basketball school record book in career assists with 254 assists, surpassing Harold Lance with 253 career assists from 1986-88.  He is also fifth in the record book for most career 3-point field goals made with 134 3-pointers.  He is tied for seventh-most career steals with 95 steals with two other former players (Adam Hofer from 2013-16 and Sean King from 1995-97).

Tanner is the son of Ron and Pam Heiser of Watertown, S.D.  He is a senior Professional Accountancy major at Dakota State University.

Dakota State (13-13 overall record, 6-6 North Star conference record) returns home this weekend at DSU Fieldhouse.  The Trojans kick off their four-game home stand Friday evening versus the conference's leader Dickinson State (N.D.).  Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Dakota State hosts Valley City State (N.D.) at 5 p.m.  The Trojan men's basketball team will be holding their Parents' Night ceremony at approximately 10-minute mark during warm-ups.
