GAME NOTES (PDF)

THIS WEEK

· The Dakota State University (S.D.) Lady T's basketball team (8-17 overall record, 5-7 NSAA) kick off their four-game North Star Athletic Association home stand with a pair of games this weekend.

· DSU's four-game home stand will wrap up the regular-season before the NSAA Women's Basketball Conference Postseason Tournament kicks off on Wednesday, Feb. 22.

· Dakota State hosts No. 21-ranked Dickinson State (N.D.) (20-5 overall record, 12-1 NSAA record), winner of 13 straight games.  Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. on Friday evening.  Prostrollo Auto Mall will be the Game Sponsor Night.

· On Saturday, the Lady T's host Valley City State (N.D.) (18-7, 9-3 NSAA), receiving votes to the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 national poll.  The game is scheduled for 3 p.m.

· The DSU Lady T's will be holding their brief Parents' Night Ceremony on Saturday during warm-ups.  The ceremony will start at approximately 10-minute mark on the warm-up clock on the scoreboard (between 2:40-2:45 p.m.).

· Dakota State (S.D.) will provide a free live video and audio broadcast of the Lady T's basketball games on Friday and Saturday.

DSU EXTENDS NSAA'S WINNING STREAK TO THREE GAMES

· Dakota State (S.D.) extended their North Star's winning streak to three games after closing out the four-game road trip with a pair of victories.

· The Lady T's rolled to a 76-49 victory over Waldorf (Iowa) on Feb. 3 in Forest City, Iowa.

· After taking an eight-point lead (22-14) after the first-quarter, DSU outscored WU 25-7 in the second period and never looked back.

· BreeAna Olson scored a game-high 22 points for the Lady T's—with 17 points coming in the first-half.  Kennedy Wagner added 14 points, where she was 4-of-8 from the 3-point arc.  Lindsey Vogl tallied nine points.

· Britley Plautz earned nine rebounds and recorded two blocks for DSU.  Jamie Tebben grabbed eight rebounds.  Wagner dished out four assists.  Tebben and Olson each stole the ball five times.

· DSU shout 39.7 percent overall from the field (29-of-73) compared to WU 34 percent (17-of-50).  The Lady T's outrebounded the Warriors 43-41.

· Trailing for the majority of the game at Viterbo (Wis.) on Feb. 4, Dakota State rallied back and held off the V-Hawks 68-58 in overtime.

· The Lady T's outscored the V-Hawks 16-6 in extra period after being knotted at 52-52 by the end of regulation.  DSU was 11-of-18 from the free-throw line in overtime and held VU to 2-of-12 field goal shooting in extra period.

· Olson tied her career-high 28 points for DSU.  Wagner added 11 points.  Kelley Criddle scored 10 points off the bench.

· DSU's Wagner pulled down nine rebounds and registered two blocked shots.  Criddle had seven rebounds.

· Shemika Frazier produced four assists and stole the ball three times for Dakota State.

· The Lady T's shot 37.3 percent overall from the field (19-of-51) compared to the V-hawks 28 percent (21-of-75).

· DSU was 26-of-39 from the free-throw line, while VU was 10-of-14 free-throws.

NSAA HONORS LADY T OLSON AS PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK

· The North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) has selected Dakota State's (S.D.) BreeAna Olson as its Women's Basketball Player-of-the-Week on Feb. 6.

· She averaged 25.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game as the Lady T's went 2-0 record for the week, extending the NSAA's conference winning streak to three games.

· Olson was 18-of-32 from the field (56.3 percent) and 11-of-16 from the free-throw line (68.8 percent) in the last two games for DSU.

· She scored 22 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, stole the ball 5 times and dished out 4 assists in Dakota State's 76-49 road victory at Waldorf (Iowa) on Feb. 3.

· Olson followed that up by tying her career-high of 28 points in DSU's 68-58 come-from-behind overtime victory at Viterbo (Wis.) on Feb. 4.  She also had 5 rebounds and 3 assists.

· She scored at least 20 points six times in the last games for Dakota State. 

LADY T'S KEEP ROLLING

· After going 2-0 record on the final North Star conference road trip last weekend, Dakota State (S.D.) had won four times in the last five games.

· The Lady T's also had won three straight North Star conference games, defeating  Presentation (S.D.) 75-58 at DSU Fieldhouse on Jan. 21, at Waldorf (Iowa) 76-49 on Feb. 3 and at Viterbo (Wis.) 68-58 in overtime on Feb. 4

· Dakota State (S.D.) is 3-1 record at home during North Star conference play (lost to No. 12-ranked Jamestown, N.D. on Jan. 20).

DSU LADY T'S TEAM LEADERS

· Points:  BreeAna Olson—15.6 points per game (391 total points—41st in the nation)

· Field Goal Percentage:  Lindsey Vogl—46.2 percent (36-of-78 field goals)

· 3-point Field Goal Percentage:  Lindsey Vogl—45.5 percent (25-of-55 3-point field goals)

· Free-throw percentage:  Kennedy Wagner—86.6 percent (71-of-82 free-throws)

· Rebounds:  Britley Plautz—167 rebounds (6.7 rebounds per game)

· Assists:  Kennedy Wagner—67 assists (2.8 assists per game)

· Steals:  BreeAna Olson—64 steals (2.6 steals per game—27th in the nation)

· Blocked shots:  Britley Plautz—53 blocked shots—2nd in the nation (2.1 blocked shots per game)

NSAA CONFERENCE STANDINGS UPDATE

· Jamestown (N.D.) (13-0) holds a one-game lead over Dickinson State (N.D.) (12-1) in the North Star conference standings.

· Valley City State (N.D.) is third with 9-3 record, followed by Bellevue (Neb.) fourth with 7-5 NSAA record.

· Dakota State (S.D.) (5-7) trails Mayville State (N.D.) (6-7) by one-half game for fifth place.  Presentation (S.D.) is seventh (3-9), Viterbo (Wis.) eighth (1-12) and Waldorf (Iowa) ninth.
