· The Dakota State University (S.D.) men's basketball team (16-15 overall record) continues their postseason run Saturday afternoon in the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Postseason Tournament's semifinals round. 

· The Trojans travel to Gordon Lozier Center to take on top-seed and No. 25-ranked Bellevue (Neb.) (20-10 overall record).

· Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. in Bellevue, Neb. (1000 Galvin Road South)

· Dakota State is the No. 5 seed in the conference postseason tournament, defeating No. 4 seed Viterbo (Wis.) 56-52 in the quarterfinals round of the NSAA Tournament.  BU pulled away past No. 8 seed Presentation (S.D.) 92-68 last Thursday evening.

· Saturday's semifinal winners will move on to the North Star Athletic Association Men's Basketball Postseason Conference Tournament's championship game on Monday evening.  The championship game will be held at the highest remaining seed in the postseason conference tournament.


· Bellevue (Neb.) will provide a free live video broadcast of the Trojans' basketball game on Saturday afternoon.

· No. 5 seed Dakota State (S.D.) raced to a 37-24 halftime lead over No. 4 seed Viterbo (Wis.) Thursday evening in the quarterfinal round of the North Star Athletic Association Men's Basketball Postseason Conference Tournament.

· The Trojans' held off the V-Hawks' comeback bid in the second-half, hanging on to a 56-52 road victory.

· It was the seventh straight victory for DSU in the NSAA Men's Basketball Postseason Tournament, dating back to the last two seasons where the Trojans won back-to-back tournament titles.

· Both teams went through five lead changes and three ties in the first twelve-plus minutes, with the lead no more than four points held by VU (17-13 with 8:06 left in the first-half).

· The Trojans sparked a 9-0 run to grab a 22-17 lead with 5:47 to go before intermission.

· Dakota State went on another 15-5 run in the final 5:02 of the first-half, propelling to a 37-24 halftime lead.  Nathaniel Rauen made a lay-up with just few ticks before halftime for DSU.

· Justin Folkers made a basket with 19:07 remaining to give Dakota State the biggest lead of the game at 39-24, before the V-Hawks mounted a furious comeback.

· The V-Hawks outscored the Trojans 20-6 in a span of nine-and-half minutes to trim DSU's lead down by one point at 45-44.

· Kyle Kilgore made a basket, followed by Ian Barse's 3-pointer to put DSU up 56-50 with 1:48 left and secured the game.

· Kilgore posted a double-double of 12 points and earned 10 rebounds for the Trojans.  He had three blocked shots.  Barse led DSU with 17 points.  Rauen collected 7 rebounds.  Heiser had four assists.

· DSU shot 42.6 percent from the field (23-of-54) compared to VU 39.6 percent (21-of-53).  The Trojans were 6-of-22 3-pointers, while the V-Hawks were 2-of-14 from the 3-point line.

· Viterbo outrebounded Dakota State 40-29.


· Kyle Kilgore hit his 1,000th career point milestone in Dakota State's (S.D.) 56-52 road victory at Viterbo (Wis.) on Feb. 23.

· Kilgore, who was named to North Star's Most Valuable Player and Newcomer-of-the-Year as well as NAIA Division II All-American Second Team in his junior season, made a lay-up with 2:42 left on the clock in the first-half.

· With that lay-up, the Trojans earned the first double-digit lead of the game at 31-21.

· He finished the game with 12 points, accumulating a total of 1,006 career points at DSU.

· Kilgore scored 523 points during his senior season at DSU.  He scores a total of 483 points this season.

· He ranks 26th in the nation in field goal percentage (58.7 percent) and 37th in total rebounds per game with an average of 8.4 rebounds.


· Top three seeds—No. 1 seed Bellevue (Neb.), No. 2 seed Dickinson State (N.D.) and No. 3 seed Jamestown (N.D.)—in the North Star Athletic Association Men's Basketball Conference Postseason Tournament all advanced after Thursday's games.

· No. 5 seed Dakota State (S.D.) was the lowest seed to win in the quarterfinal round.

· On Thursday, BU defeated No. 8 seed Presentation (S.D.) 92-68; UJ held on to a 95-87 victory over No. 6 seed Valley City State (N.D.) and DiSU defeated No. 7 seed Waldorf (Iowa) 73-67.

· DiSU hosts UJ in the other North Star conference semifinals on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. (Central Time)/3 p.m. (Mountain Time).


· Points:  Kyle Kilgore—483 points (17.9 points per game)

· Field Goal Percentage:  Justin Folkers—59.1 percent (140-of-237 field goals)

· 3-point Field Goal Percentage:  Tanner Heiser—40.0 percent (84-of-210 3-point field goals—26th in the nation in 3-pionters made)

· Free-throw percentage:  Kevin Daniels—79.1 percent (53-of-67 free-throws)

· Rebounds:  Kyle Kilgore—226 rebounds (8.4 rebounds per game—37th in the nation)

· Assists:  Tanner Heiser—138 assists—24th in the nation (4.5 assists per game)

· Steals:  Tanner Heiser—56 steals—17th in the nation (1.8 steals per game)

· Blocked shots:  Kyle Kilgore—18 blocks (0.7 blocked shots per game)


· According to the DakStats-NAIA statistical website as of Friday, Dakota State ranks 20th in the nation in assist/turnover ratio of 1.3.

· The Trojans are 37th in the NAIA in total assists (468), 41st in scoring defensive per game (75.6) and 45th in assists per game (15.1).

· DSU is 50th in the nation in field goal percentage.  The Trojans made 905 baskets in 1946 attempts for a percentage of 46.5.
