MADISON, S.D. – A total of 36 runners completed the women's 5K race in Dakota State's (S.D.) 15th year running of the Herb Blakely Invitational Saturday morning at the Madison Country Club.

NCAA Division II Northern State (S.D.) won the team title for the second straight year with 17 points.  Dakotah Bullen claimed the individual title with a time of 18 minutes, 25 seconds.  It was the third straight season that she had won the Herb Blakely Invitational women's individual title.  Her time tied for the fifth-best in the history of the cross country meet (Angi Axmann of Black Hills State, S.D. in 2004).

Southwest Minnesota State, another NCAA Division II school, finished second with 49 points.  College of Saint Mary (Neb.) was third with 80 points, while Dakota State was fourth with 102 points.  Trinity Bible (N.D.) also competed in the race.

Kirsten Paetow placed 26th overall with a time of 22 minutes, 51 seconds for DSU.  Ashley Robinson was 28th with a time of 23:15.  Mallory Aughenbaugh finished 31st after clocking a time of 23 minutes, 36 seconds.

Dakota State will take a week off before returning back to action.  The Trojans run in the one of the premier cross country meets in the Midwest region, the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by NCAA Division I Minnesota, on Saturday, Sept 23.  The cross country meet takes place in Falcon Heights, Minn.
