MADISON, S.D. - Dakota State University head coach men's basketball coach Gary Garner is excited to announce the signing of Mitchell High School standout Seth Cavanaugh. He will join the Trojan men's basketball team this coming fall.

Cavanaugh was selected to Eastern South Dakota (ESD) All-Conference first team. He averaged 14 points and 6 rebounds per game for the Kernels, coached under Tom Young. Cavanaugh was named to the team's most valuable player.

He earned the Regent's Scholar award and Presidential Award of Academic Excellence for his academic success in the classroom.

"I think that Seth will develop into a very good basketball player," said Garner. "His fundamentals are already sound and with strength, he will only get better."

Seth is the son of Todd and Kristi Cavanaugh of Mitchell, S.D.
