THIS WEEK:  Dakota State (7-1 overall record) continues their men's basketball action on the road with a pair of games this week.  The Trojans play in their fourth and final exhibition game of the season Thursday night with NCAA Division I South Dakota State. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at the Frost Arena in Brookings, S.D. On Saturday, Dakota State looks to bounce back from the only regular-season loss to nationally-ranked Northwestern (Iowa). The second meeting between DSU and NWIA will be held at the Bultman Center in Orange City, Iowa with the game time starting at 4 p.m.

HISTORY ON DSU'S BEST START & WINNING STREAK:  The last time Dakota State had begun their season with a 7-1 overall record was 46 years ago.  The 1966-67 DSU men's basketball team (which shared the South Dakota-Iowa Conference regular-season title) started their season with a 9-1 record (loss to Westmar (Iowa) 81-78).  The Trojans are currently on a six-game winning streak that started with a 68-64 victory over in-state rival Dakota Wesleyan on Nov. 10 in Madison.  The most consecutive wins in Trojan men's basketball record book is eight during the 1990-91 season.  DSU recorded seven straight wins two times in DSU men's basketball team history in 1991-92 and 1963-64 seasons.
