MADISON, S.D. - Dakota State University is sponsoring a 'fan bus' trip to the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball National Tournament in Point Lookout, Mo. to support the Trojan men's basketball team. DSU will be playing the national's No. 5 seed McPherson (Kan.) on Wednesday night, March 7 at 9:45 p.m.
The bus will leave on Wednesday morning from the DSU Fieldhouse, no later than 7 a.m. The cost of the trip will be a minimum of $125 per person (which will include the transportation down to and returning from Point Lookout, Mo. and your first night lodging factoring in two (2) persons per room). If the team advances, each person will be responsible for their own lodging costs ($84 including taxes per night). Food, game tickets and other incidentals are your own responsibility. The national championship takes place on Tuesday, March 13.
The bus will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you are interested in attending, please contact the DSU Athletic Department to express your interest. In order for this trip to take place, a minimum of 45 people will need to commit to the trip.
A block of rooms will be secured once we have enough to travel and a bus is confirmed. Rooms would need to be paid for on a daily basis if Dakota State advances.
Once numbers are finalized on Monday, March 5 by 12 noon, it will be determined if numbers warrant the trip to take place and be confirmed. Payment is required in advance at the DSU Athletic Office. Make payments to DSU Athletics by Tuesday by 12 noon. It will be the traveler's responsibility to confirm if the trip will take place. Check wither DSU's athletic website (www.dsuathletics.com) call 605-256-5229 before 3 p.m. on Monday, March 5.
