STARKVILLE, Miss. - The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) has announced the 2011 Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Region teams. This season, 160 student-athletes representing 65 institutions were chosen in each of the five NFCA regions. Freshman Emily Kulp of Dakota State was named to West All-Region team as an at-large selection.
Kulp was named to Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) All-Conference team this past spring. Her batting average was .327 with 32 hits in 98 plate appearances. She recorded nine doubles and four home runs with a slugging percentage of .541 and 25 RBIs.
Kulp had set two new DSU school records in a single game versus North Carolina Wesleyan on March 12, 2011 as part of the Snowbird Tournament in Myrtle Beach, S.C. She recorded the most RBIs (8) and home runs (3) in a single game.
Emily is the daughter of Robert and Kathleen Kulp of Orange, Calif.
