The Dakota State University softball team looks to snap their six-game losing streak as they hit the road this weekend. The Trojans head to Spearfish, S.D. to face Minot State for a DAC four-game series. The doubleheader starts at 1 p.m. (MT) on Saturday. The game times will be announced at a later time for Sunday.
Dakota State is 11-14 overall record and 0-8 in the DAC conference. The Trojans suffered a non-conference sweep from the University of South Dakota last Tuesday. The Coyotes defeated the Trojans 13-0 and 9-0 in Vermillion, S.D.
Minot State is 17-7 overall and 4-2 in the conference. The Beavers split with Valley City State in Valley City, N.D. on April 12. Minot State won the first game 2-1 and lost the second game 4-2 with the Vikings.
Minot State won all five meetings from Dakota State in 2010. The Beavers swept the Trojans in Madison, S.D. on April 10 and 11, 2010. Both teams met in the first round of the DAC Softball Post-season Tournament in Valley City, N.D. on May 8, 2010. Minot State defeated DSU 11-3. Dakota State will attempt to end their 13-game losing streak to the Beavers. The last time the Trojans defeated the Beavers was on April 15, 2007 in Minot, S.D. by the score of 7-1.
