The Dakota State University softball team returns home Wednesday after playing 17 straight games on the road/neutral sites in a span of one month. The Trojans look to bounce back in the winning column as they host Presentation (S.D.) College in a non-conference doubleheader at the Thue Softball Complex. First game is slated to start at 3 p.m.
Dakota State is 9-8 overall record and 0-4 in the Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC). The Trojans were 9-2 in the Snowbird Tournament in Myrtle Beach, S.C. in early March. DSU lost a doubleheader to in-state rival University of Sioux Falls (9-5 and 9-7) on Tuesday in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Presentation is 4-8 overall and is currently on a seven-game losing streak. PC, a member of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III, is 0-2 in the conference. The Saints were swept by North Central (4-0 and 7-3) and University of Minnesota-Morris (8-3 and 6-3) on April 4.
The last time both teams met was on April 24, 2007 in Aberdeen, S.D. The Trojans defeated the Saints 2-1 and 10-5. The last time they met in Madison was on April 12, 2006 where DSU swept Presentation 16-5 and 11-1.
