The Dakota State University baseball team returns home for the first time this season on Wednesday. The Trojans host Briar Cliff in a non-conference doubleheader at the Flynn Field. First game is set to start at 3 p.m.
Dakota State is 1-19 overall and 0-4 in the Dakota Athletic Conference. The Trojans suffered a four-game series sweep from Valley City State last weekend in Omaha, Neb. Briar Cliff is 7-22 and 2-6 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. The Chargers suffered a pair of conference losses (2-1 and 6-0) with University of Sioux Falls on April 3 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
The last time Briar Cliff and Dakota State met was on March 21, 2010 in Sioux City, Iowa. Both teams split the doubleheader. Dakota State won the first game 7-3, while the Chargers defeated the Trojans in the second game 6-4.
