Outstanding Male Athletes

Anthony Drealan (2011)
Anthony DrealanFifth-year senior Anthony Drealan was chosen for the Most Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year.  He has received numerous honors in his career at Dakota State.  Most recently, Drealan qualified for the 2011 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Nationals in men's marathon.

Drealan was All-Conference in outdoor track, indoor track and cross country.  He was a member of the distance medley relay team that finished second in the 2010 NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships.  As a result, he earned an NAIA Indoor Track and Field All-American honor.

In 2009, he was named an NAIA Cross Country All-American after placing 25th at the national meet.  In addition, he received the NAIA Champions of Character award at the national meet.  During that  year, Drealan was a member of the first-ever Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) team champions in school history and qualified for NAIA Nationals as a team.  He was voted the Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) Most Outstanding Senior runner.

Drealan was also named a DAC Scholar Athlete for his academic success.  He was voted by DSU head coaches for the annual athletic award in Champions of Character (2010).

Anthony is the son of Wayne and Heidi Drealan of Fulda, Minn.  He is a Computer Education major at Dakota State University.
