Amy Veenhof is entering her sixth season as head volleyball coach at Dakota State University.  She was named head coach in March 2009 after spending four seasons as the assistant volleyball coach at Northern State University in Aberdeen, S.D.

Veenhof guided her 2011 DSU Volleyball team to their most wins since 2005.  In addition, the Trojans qualified for the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Conference post-season tournament in Phoenix, Ariz.  She coached two 2011 All-Conference selections,  During her coaching tenure at Dakota State, she had coached three spikers that surpassed 1,000-kill club.

Veenhof's volleyball teams have also excelled in the classroom, where in her first five years, nine players earned Academic All-American.  Her teams also consistently ranked at or above a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, earning NAIA Scholar-Team award four times.

Veenhof coached at Si Tanka-Huron University for one season before taking the job at Northern State.  She also served as the head coach of the Northeast South Dakota (NESD) Junior Olympic volleyball club in Aberdeen for four years.

During Veenhof's coaching tenure at Dakota State, she is the director for the Madison Area Junior Olympic Volleyball Club.

Veenhof was a two-year starter, two-time All-Conference and All-Region selection in both volleyball and softball at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minn.  She also received All-American in volleyball.  Veenhof then transferred to Si Tanka University in Huron, S.D. where she was a two-year starter in both volleyball and softball.  She received Academic All-American honors while at Si Tanka.

Veenhof is a native of Henderson, Minn.  She earned her associate degree from Bethany Lutheran College, her bachelor's degree from Si Tanka University and her master's degree from Northern State University.  Veenhof is also teaching for the College of Education at Dakota State University.

Amy and her husband, Casey, have three sons - Shane, Henry and Frank.  Casey played football at Huron University and for the Sioux Falls Storm.

Assistant Coach: 3rd Season
Alma Mater: Northern State University

Megan Kusler is entering her third season as an assistant volleyball coach at Dakota State University.  She was a volleyball and basketball standout for Aberdeen Central High School.  In both volleyball and basketball, Kusler was a three-time All-Conference selection, two-time State All-Tournament pick and received All-State recognition her senior year.  She was also named South Dakota Miss Volleyball.

After graduating from Aberdeen Central, Kusler went to Northern State University and played basketball for the Wolves from 2006-2010.  She received her bachelor's degree in sports marketing and administration from Northern State University.

Kusler has several years of experience coaching and officiating volleyball.  She was on the coaching staff of the Northeast South Dakota (NESD) Junior Olympic volleyball club in Aberdeen for five years.  She has been a summer camp instructor and official for Aberdeen Central High School and Northern State University for numerous years.

Kusler coached for the Madison Junior Olympics volleyball program for the past two years.

Kusler currently resides in Madison, S.D.
