DSU women lose 71-63
By Nick Huntimer, Dakota State University Sports Information Director (Sioux City, IA) - The Dakota State University Lady T's lost to Briar Cliff on Monday in the Morningside Holiday Classic at Sioux City, Iowa.
The Lady T's opened with a 23-8 lead in the first half, but Briar Cliff came back with a 22-7 run to tie the game 30-30 at halftime.
First-half 3-pointers: The Lady T's shot 5-of-10 from behind the arc in the first half, compared to Briar Cliff's 0-of-8.
Free throws: The Lady Chargers made 22 free throws out of 36 tries. DSU shot 16 free throws and made nine.
Rebounds: The Lady T's grabbed five more rebounds than Briar Cliff (46-41).
Turnovers: Briar Cliff forced the Lady T's to 29 turnovers, while the Lady Chargers had 20 turnovers.
DSU Scoring Leaders: Alyssa Kirk and Megan Swecker scored 14 points, and Katie Bourk 10.
DSU Rebounding Leaders: Dayna Tschakert had 10, Brittany Rosberg 9, and Kirk 8.
