Trojans Picked to Finish 8th in DAC Volleyball Preseason Poll

Nick Huntimer, Dakota State Sports Information Director (Dickinson, ND) – Dickinson State University is the coaches' choice to capture the Dakota Athletic Conference women's volleyball title for the ninth year in a row with Black Hills State a close second.

The Blue Hawks, under new head coach Ryan Platt, picked up four first place votes to top the conference preseason poll. The Yellow Jackets also picked up four first place votes, but had one less voting point to finish second.

South Dakota School of Mines placed third in the balloting with Jamestown College fourth and Valley City State fifth. Mayville State and Minot State tied for sixth with Dakota State rounding out the poll at number eight.

The Trojans will open their season competing in the Mount Marty Triangular with Waldorf (IA) College on Saturday, August 23. Then, the Trojans return home on Wednesday, August 27 as they host University of Sioux Falls at the DSU Memorial Field House at 7:00 pm.
