Simmons Named DAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week

(Madison, SD) -- T.J. Simmons of Dakota State University's football team has been selected as DAC's Special Teams Player of the Week for the week of October 13-19.
Simmons, senior defensive back from Houston, TX, returned a punt 82 yards for a touchdown as the Trojans took a 10-7 lead with 19 seconds left before halftime versus Minot State last Saturday, October 11. In addition, he had three kick returns for 16 yards in Trojans' 28-17 setback to Minot State.
T.J. is the son of Deborah Simmons of Houston, TX, and is majoring in Physical Education at Dakota State University.
The Trojans (2-4, 0-3 DAC) travel to Valley City, ND on Saturday, October 18th, to take on Valley City State (2-3, 0-3 DAC) in a DAC Football Conference action. Both teams are searching for their first win of the season as the kickoff is slated for 1:30 pm.
