Sonne Earns Daktronics-NAIA Football All-American Academic Honor

(Madison, SD) -- Scott Sonne, Trojans' senior tight end, was named to 2008 Daktronics-NAIA Football All-American Academic honor. This honor was announced on December 19th with 247 student-athletes receiving the distinction.

In order to be a recipient of the Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete award, one must fulfill these requirements: The recipient must be a junior or senior above in academic standing; has been in attendance at the nomination institution a minimum of one full year of attendance; has a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale at the time of nomination at the nominating institution; and has been certified as eligible.

In the fall, Sonne was named to 2008 Draddy Trophy semifinalist for his outstanding football ability as a starter, or significant contributor and demonstrates strong leadership and citizenship skills.

Scott graduated from Dakota State University with a major in Math Education. He is the son of Greg and Char Sonne of Mt. Vernon, SD.
