Lady T's Suffer Two Razor-Thin Loss

Madison Daily Leader (Sioux Falls, SD) - Dakota State Lady T's suffered razor-thin losses to Midland Lutheran College 65-63 and the University of Sioux Falls 75-74 in the weekend's USF Classic at the Stewart Center in Sioux Falls. The Lady T's will attempt to snap a three-game losing string against Mount Marty College Tuesday at the DSU Memorial Field House, starting at 7:30 pm.

Midland Lutheran 65, Lady T's 63
DSU let a 27-21 halftime lead slip away in the second half, with MLC's Warriors outscoring the Lady T's 44-36. The Lady T's offense was powered by the double-digit scoring of Megan Swecker, who netted 14 points, Katie Bourk with 13, and Alyssa Kirk with 10. Kristen Roles claimed 11 of DSU's 20 rebounds. Midland Lutheran got 19 game-high points by Shirley Butler and 16 more from Marcy Rauschild. Kerry Butzke also had 12 points and Jami Thramer 11.

USF 75, Lady T's 74
Against the Lady Cougars, DSU built a 33-28 lead at halftime, only to have USF outscore the Lady T's 47-41 in the game's final 20 minutes. Swecker produced a game-high 23 points, while teammates Kirk and Bourk came through with respective 17- and 14-point outings. Dayna Tschakert had 10 of the Lady T's 40 rebounds, while Bourk came down with 6 caroms. The Lady Cougars' Beth Christofferson had 17 points.
