Four signees to join DSU Trojan Football team

Dakota State University football head coach Josh Anderson is proud to announce four signees to play for the Trojans, starting in the fall of 2010. Tyler CavigielliThe four signees are Tyler Cavigielli, Carl Curtis, Cody Stahl and Zac Woods.

Cavigielli will graduate from Howard High School this spring. He was a member of the State "9AA" Championship team under the direction of DSU Alumni Coach Pat Ruml. Cavigielli was named to outstanding defensive back two times for the Tigers. He also lettered in wrestling and track. He earned All-Conference in wrestling and was a state qualifier. Cavigielli received the "Tiger Track Award." He was also named to Howard's High School Honor Roll. Tyler is the son of Gary Cavigielli from Howard, S.D. and Lisa Zulk from Canova, S.D.

Carl CurtisCurtis is from Desert Ridge High School in Arizona, where he played for head coach Jeremy Hathcock and current DSU offensive coordinator Tom Nielsen. He is a transfer from Chandler Gilbert Community College. In high school, Curtis was named to 1st team All-State, 1st team All-Region and 1st team All-East Valley. He was voted as the teams' best wide receiver. Curtis broke a school record for most catches in a season with 81, which is second all-time in the state of Arizona. He was voted as the best male athlete for his high school. Carl is the son of Mike and Linda Curtis of Mesa, Ariz.

Cody StahlStahl comes from Hitchcock-Tulare High School. He was a member of the Patriots State "9B" Championship team in 2009 and state runner-ups in 2008 under head coach Kenny Huether. He lettered in football and track for four years. Stahl qualified for the state track meet in 2009. He was on the Hitchcock-Tulare's High School Honor Roll and was listed on the Who's Who. Stahl was a medal winner in FCCLA State Parli-Por for three years. Cody is the son of Alan and Cathy Stahl of Hitchcock, S.D.

Woods attends school at Washington High School in Cherokee, Iowa. He was named to 1st team All-District offense team. Woods was a member of the football team that qualified for the district football playoffs for four years under head coach Neil Phipps. Zac WoodsHe also lettered in basketball and baseball. Woods was a member of the baseball team that qualified for state postseason play. He was listed on the honor roll and was a member of the National Honor Society. Zac is the son of John and Quinn Woods of Cherokee, Iowa.
