MBK: Trojans play well in exhibition game with NCAA D-II Augustana (S.D.)

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Dakota State University men's basketball team played their final exhibition game of the season against NCAA Division II Augustana at the Elmen Center.  The Vikings shot 9-for-13 from the 3-point line in the first-half for a 56-31 halftime lead and defeated the Trojans 80-64.

The win raised the Vikings' overall record to 9-1.  DSU stayed at 5-4 overall.

The Vikings went 21-for-35 from the field in the first half compared to the Trojans' 12-for-31. 

DSU limited the Vikings to 24 points in the second half.  The Trojans scored 33 points in the second half.

Santino Clay and Everett Smith each scored 11 points for the Trojans.  Derek Kreutzfeldt went 3-for-6 from the 3-point line for nine points.  Jackson Parr and Spencer Adams each had six rebounds.

Cody Schilling went 7-for-11 from the field for 17 points for the Vikings.  He gathered six rebounds and dished out six assists.  David Foster added 16 points.  Lee Stephens scored 12 points and grabbed six rebounds.  Jordan Dalton had six assists.

The Vikings went 52.5 percent (32-for-61) from the field compared to the Trojans' 40.9 percent (27-for-66).

The Trojans will return home Sunday (Dec. 20) as they welcome Ashford (Iowa).  The game will be held at the DSU Fieldhouse at 2 p.m.
