Trojans lose to Missouri Valley in men's hoop action

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Dakota State Trojan men's basketball team faced Missouri Valley College in the second day of the USF/Famous Dave's Classic at the Stewart Center.  The Vikings held a 38-31 halftime lead and outscored the Trojans 39-21 in the second half for a 77-52 Vikings win.

The loss dropped the Trojans to 1-2 overall.  Missouri Valley College recorded their first win in two games played this season.

Bryce Snyder led the Trojans with 12 points and seven rebounds.  Jackson Parr added 10 points.

Rouven Haenig scored 21 points for Missouri Valley College.  Roc Rogers added 14 points and grabbed five rebounds.  Patrick McDermott recorded 12 points.

MVC shot 73.7 percent from the field in the first half and 56.0 percent from the game compared to the Trojans' 36.4 overall percentage from the field.  The Vikings held a 36-29 rebounding advantage over the Trojans.

Dakota State will step outside of the regular season on Monday as they visit NCAA Division I South Dakota State University.  The exhibition game will be held at the Frost Arena in Brookings at 7 p.m.
