Men's Basketball: Trojans extend winning streak to three games

The Dakota State University men's basketball team traveled on the road for a pair of non-conference games. The Trojans extended their winning streak to three games as DSU defeated Presentation College 57-49 and Trinity Bible 70-57.

The Trojans raised their overall record to 4-3, one game above .500.

The Trojans won the defensive battle with NCAA Division III Presentation College at the Strode Center in Aberdeen, S.D. Saturday.

DSU opened with a 14-2 run and held on for a 29-17 halftime lead. The Trojans controlled in the second half and held on for a eight-point win.

The Trojans limited PC to 5-for-31 from the field and 1-for-14 from the 3-point line in the first-half. The second half was a different story as PC held DSU to 5-for-21 shooting. The Trojans took advantage with a 16-for-22 from the free-throw line in the second-half.

Bryce Snyder recorded a double-double with game-high 16 points and 15 rebounds for DSU. Jason DeZeeuw added 15 points and Derek Kreutzfeldt scored 10 points. Jackson Parr had 11 rebounds.

Richie Ward scored 13 points for the Saints. Michael Babcock added nine points.

The Trojans outrebounded Saints 48-25. DSU limited Presentation to 27.7 percent from the field.

DSU will play an exhibition game on Wednesday in Marshall, Minn. The Trojans will visit Southwest Minnesota State in a 7 p.m. game.
