Trojans had good performances at Nebraska Wesleyan, USD/Graphic Edge meets

Dakota State University indoor track and field teams participated in two competitive meets last weekend. The Trojans participated in the Nebraska Wesleyan Invitational and USD/Graphic Edge Invitational. Both meets featured schools from NCAA Division I and II and NAIA schools.
Nebraska Wesleyan Invitational
Tyler Van Peursem earned an automatic qualifier to the NAIA Nationals in the men's one mile. He captured a first place with a time of four minutes and 13.92 seconds. Van Peursem's time is the second fastest time in the NAIA. He broke his old school record previously set in 2009 (4:16.08). Van Peursem placed second in the 1000-meter run in 2:29.97.
Anthony Drealan placed third in the one mile run with a time of 4:21.74. He earned the NAIA Provisional time to qualify for the NAIA Nationals. Drealan was fourth in the 3000-meter run in 8:52.50.
Matt Fideler finished sixth int he one mile run with a time of 4:23.70.
Cody Foreman crossed the finish line in second place in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:59.45.
Brittany Young finished second in the women's 800-meter run with a time of 2:23.25.
Samantha Warnke placed fifth in the 5000-meter run in 18 minutes and 59.87 seconds.
USD/Graphic Edge Invitational
Drew Allen was fourth in the men's 60-meter hurdles. He finished with a time of 8.75 seconds.
Fideler placed fifth in the 800-meter run with a time of two minutes and 2.74 seconds. Foreman was seventh in 2:04.31.
Ben Harrison finished sixth in the 1000-meter run in 2:45.33. Andy Quenzer placed eighth in 2:46.71.
Stacey Berg was eighth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.37 seconds. He finished sixth in the 200-meter dash in 23.52 seconds.
Michael Hoffman crossed the finish line in eighth place in the one mile run with a time of 4:55.91.
DSU men's 4 x 400 meter relay team (Zach Bakke, Berg, Quenzer and Phillip Carmody) placed fifth with a time of 3:35.64.
Danielle Rowe cleared the high jump with five feet and one inch for a third place finish. Stephanie Uher placed sixth with a high jump measure of 4 feet and 11 inches.
Summer Bronson placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles in 10.83 seconds. Sara Schultz was sixth in 10.94 seconds.
Warnke placed fifth in the women's one mile run in five minutes and 38.10 seconds.
Clarice Bauer crossed the finish line in fifth place in the 5000-meter run with a time of 20:00.03.
Amber Krogstad placed sixth in the long jump with a measure of 15 feet and 0.5 inches. Shelby Tollefson was seventh (14' 11.5").
Young was seventh in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:03.21.
Dakota State will compete in the Buena Vista Invitational on Saturday. The meet will be held in Storm Lake, Iowa.
