DSU Football signs five recruits

Dakota State University head football coach Josh Anderson is proud to announce five signings to join Trojan Football. They are Doug Cordell, Dennis Lechner, Jordan Rusk, Chance Snyder and McKenzie Warner.
Cordell, 5'9" and 230 lbs. guard for Sioux Falls Washington, was named to All-State and All-City teams. He was All-Conference honorable mention and was named to Most Inspirational player on the team. He was a two-time "Ready Warrior" award for leadership. Cordell was a member of the Class 11AA State Championship team in 2009. He was coached under Brian Hermanson. He was named to Student of the Year. Doug is the son of Nancy Cordell of Sioux Falls, S.D. He plans to major in Physical Education at Dakota State University.
Lechner, 6'0" and 160 lbs. kicker, will graduate from Queen Creek High School (Ariz.) this spring. He was coached under Curt LeBlanc, where his team had made to the
regionals for seven years in a row. Lechner was named to 1st team All-Region kicker and received All-State honorable mention. He also lettered in soccer for three years. Dennis is the son of Dennis and Marisol Lechner of Queen Creek, Ariz. He plans to major in Athletic Training.
Rusk, 6'0" and 235 lbs. defensive line, played under Chad Stadem (DSU alumni) from Flandreau Public High School. He was named to All-Conference, All-State honorable mention and Argus Leader "Elite 45" honorable mention. Rusk was selected to play in the South Dakota All-Star game this summer. Jordan is the son of Sally Rusk of Flandreau, S.D. He plans to major in Business at DSU.
Snyder, 6'1" and 175 lbs., comes from Milbank High School. Under the direction of Jeremy Tostenson, Snyder was named to All-Conference and All-State honorable mention. He was the team captain for the Bulldogs and a member of Class 11A State Championship team in 2009. Snyder was selected to play in the South Dakota High School All-Star game in the summer. He also lettered in track and was a member of the 4 x 100 relay team that finished second in the state last spring. He was listed on the Honor Roll. Chance is the son of Jerrad Snyder and Jodi Baumgart of Milbank, S.D. He plans to major in Pre-Physical Therapy.
Warne, 5'11" and 245 lbs. center, will graduate from Sioux Falls Lincoln this spring. He played under the direction of Aaron Beavers. Warne earned All-Conference honorable mention and was named the Most Inspirational player. He was a member of the Class 11AA State Championship team in 2008. McKenzie is the son of Paula McLendon of Sioux Falls, S.D. He plans to major in education/coaching at Dakota State University.
