MBK: Trojans win final home regular season game over Lions 84-59

Box Score vs. Trinity Bible

MADISON, S.D. - The Trojan men's basketball team played their final home regular season game Tuesday night at the DSU Fieldhouse.  DSU welcomed Trinity Bible for both teams' second meeting of the season.  The Trojans led 36-23 at halftime and never looked back as DSU defeated Trinity Bible 84-59.

The Trojans lifted their overall record to 11-15 and finished 8-6 at home this season.  Trinity Bible dipped down to 10-17.

With the score tied at 5 with 14:56 left in the first half, DSU used a 19-8 run for a 24-13 lead with 9:03 left.  The Lions used an 8-0 run to cut the deficit to 24-21 with 4:42 before intermission.  The Trojans closed the first half with a 12-2 run.

The Trojans continued to expand their lead to 60-30 with 11:44 left in the game.  The Lions could not get any closer than 19 points.  DSU outscored Trinity Bible 48-36 in the second half.

All 11 Trojan players scored in the game.  Derek Kreutzfeldt scored 14 points on his 5-for-8 shooting night.  He shot 4-for-6 from the 3-point line.  Brad Martin scored 11 points off the bench.  Bryce Snyder scored 10 points and recorded two blocked shots.  Everett Smith scored nine points and dished out seven assists.  Santino Clay added nine points and Brian Bolin had seven points.  Spencer Adams led the team with seven rebounds.  Jackson Parr had eight points and six rebounds.

Shean Bosworth had 19 points on his 7-for-15 shooting night for the Lions.  He went 5-for-8 from the 3-point line.  Bosworth grabbed nine rebounds.  Mikey Rosario added 15 points.  Terrance Sevion had six assists.

DSU shot 50 percent (31-for-62) from the field compared to the Lions' 31.3 percent (20-for-64).  Both teams had 10 3-pointers.

The Trojans outrebounded the Lions 47-30.

It was Parents/Senior night for Dakota State.  It marked the last home games of the career for Eric Bauder, Smith, Parr and Bolin.

Dakota State will play their final weekend of DAC conference play on the road.  The Trojans will visit Valley City State on Friday night at 7:30 p.m.  On Saturday, DSU will face Jamestown in a 6 p.m. match-up.
