Indoor Track & Field: Van Peursem selected DAC's Outstanding Men's Track Athlete of the Meet; nine named to DAC All-Conference

Nine Dakota State indoor track and field athletes had been selected to the DAC postseason honors. The honors were awarded after the DAC Indoor Track & Field Championship meet in Spearfish, S.D. on Feb. 20th.
To be selected to DAC Indoor Track & Field All-Conference honors, the athletes need to be placed in the top three for individual events and a first-place in the relay events.
Senior Tyler Van Peursem was selected as DAC's Indoor Track & Field Outstanding Men's Track Athlete of the Meet, nominated by the coaches in the DAC. He captured an individual title in the men's one-mile run (4:22.83). Van Peursem also raced in the 800-meter run and placed second with a time of 1:55.39. He was a member of the 4 x 400-meter relay team that finished second. Van Peursem earned DAC All-Conference honors in the one-mile run and 800-meter run. Tyler is the son of Kevin and Shelly Van Peursem of Sioux Falls, S.D.
Devon Berkness, junior from Madison, S.D., claimed the individual title in the men's 5000-meter run. He finished with a time of 15 minutes and 41.31 seconds and was named to DAC All-Conference honor. Devon is the son of Robert and Marlys Mildenberg.
Junior Danielle Rowe won the women's high jump with a height of five feet and 3.75 inches. This was her second straight year that she had won the DAC women's high jump. As a result, she earned DAC All-Conference. Danielle is the daughter of Robert and Michelle Rowe of Rapid City, S.D.
Anthony Drealan, senior from Fulda, Minn., earned second-place honor in the men's 3000-meter run. He finished with a time of 9:03.12 and was named to DAC All-Conference. Anthony is the son of Wayne and Heidi Drealan.
Freshman Stacey Berg captured second place in the men's long jump with a measure of 22 feet and 7.25 inches. He earned DAC All-Conference honor and made a provisional qualifying mark for NAIA Nationals. Stacey is the son of Kevin and Melissa Berg of Winslow, Ariz.
Junior Amber Krogstad placed second in the women's long jump. Her long jump measure was 17 feet and 8.25 inches. Krogstad made a provisional qualifying mark for NAIA Nationals and was named to DAC All-Conference honor. She is a native of Baltic, S.D.
Drew Allen, freshman from Castlewood, S.D., was third in the men's long jump. His long jump measure was 22 feet and 6.25 inches. Allen placed third in the men's 60-meter hurdles in 8.63 seconds. As a result, he earned DAC All-Conference honors in the long jump and 60-meter hurdles. Drew is the son of Randall Allen and Geralyn LaCroix.
Andy Coy, freshman from Hill City, S.D., earned DAC All-Conference in the men's one-mile run. He placed third with a time of 4:22.83 and qualified for NAIA Nationals. Andy is the son of Rusty Coy and Cindy Naugle.
Junior Phillip Carmody earned DAC All-Conference honor by placing third in the men's heptathlon. He scored 3,724 points in the event. Phillip is the son of Joe Carmody and Phyllis Summerville of Highmore, S.D.
