DSU Football signs six more recruits

Josh Anderson, Trojan football head coach, is proud to announce more signings to join the DSU Football team this fall. They are Dillon Anderson, Logan DeRungs, Joe Hyke, Spencer Lee and Michael Nichols.
Anderson, 5'9" and 150 lbs., comes from Beresford High School. He played defensive back for head coach Kent Anderson. He was selected to play in the South Dakota High School All-Star game in June. Anderson was named to Class '11B' All-State kicker, All-Conference defensive back and team captain. He currently holds the Beresford High School field goal record.
Anderson also lettered in baseball and was named to All-State and All-Region teams. Dillon is the son of Kent and Angie Anderson of Beresford, S.D.
DeRungs, 6'3" and 210 lbs., will graduate from Oldham-Ramona High School in May. He was a defensive end for the Raiders under head coach Jason Hanson. DeRungs was a four-year letter winner and starter and was the team captain. He also lettered in basketball and was named to All-Conference and Brookings All-Register team. He was listed on the honor roll and was a member of the National Honor Society. Logan is the son of John and Claudia DeRungs of Ramona, S.D. He plans to major in Pre-Law at DSU.
Hyke, 6'1" and 190 lbs, comes from Parkston High School. He played linebacker for the Trojans, under head coach Eric Norden. Hyke was a four-year letter winner and earned All-Conference honor two times. He was the team captain and named the defensive most valuable player.
He also lettered in wrestling for six years and track for two years. Hyke received academic award for four years. Joe plans to major in Exercise Science at DSU.
Lee, 6'1" and 240 lbs., will graduate from Hamilton High School this spring. He was a member of 5-A1 State championship teams for two years. He was an offensive lineman under head coach Steve Belles. Lee was a letter-winner in football for three years. Spencer is the son of Ron Lee and Melissa Low of Chandler, Ariz. He plans to major in Exercise Science at Dakota State University.
Nichols, 6'0" and 175 lbs., played for Sioux Falls Roosevelt High School.
He played defensive back for Kim Nelson, a former DSU football player and alumni. Nichols was named to the Coca-Cola Unsung Hero and "Biggest Team Player" awards. He was tied for most interceptions on the team. He was an academic letter-winner. Michael is the son of Pat and Lisa Nichols of Sioux Falls, S.D. He plans to major in Biology at DSU.
