JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - The Dakota State University indoor track and field team competed in two events on the second day of the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championship held at the ETSU's Memorial Center "Mini-Dome" Friday.  The Trojans raced in the men's 4 x 800-meter relay finals and women's 800-meter run semifinals.

DSU men's 4 x 800-meter relay team consists of Andy Coy, Cody Foreman, Matt Fideler and Tyler Van Peursem.  After a school record time Thursday with a first-place finish in the semifinals, the Trojans finished second place with a time of seven minutes and 43.32 seconds.  As a result, DSU men's 4 x 800-meter relay team established a new school record time and earned NAIA All-Americans honor.

Dakota State men's team is in a six-way tie for sixth place in the standings with eight points through event 42.

Brittany YoungBrittany Young raced in the women's 800-meter run semifinals.  She finished fourth in heat one with a time of 2:18.68.  Young broke her old school record time of 2:20.28 earlier this season.  She finished sixth overall and qualified for the women's 800-meter finals on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. (ET)/12:30 p.m. (CT).

The Trojans will compete in two other events on Saturday.  Danielle Rowe will be competing in the women's high jump at 1:30 p.m. (ET)/12:30 p.m. (CT).  The Trojan men's distance medley relay team (Anthony Drealan, Foreman, Fideler and Van Peursem) will be competing in the finals at 3:50 p.m. (ET)/2:50 p.m. (CT).
