Outdoor Track & Field: Trojans compete in the Vance Butler Invitational Thursday

The Dakota State University outdoor track and field teams will compete in the fifth annual Vance Butler Invitational, hosted by Augustana College, on Thursday. It was originally scheduled for Friday and was moved a day earlier due to expected inclement weather. The meet will be held at the Howard Wood Field in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Action begins with the hammer throw, which is scheduled for 11 a.m. Other field events will begin at 1 p.m. The running event starts with the 3000-meter steeplechase at 3 p.m.
Eleven area schools are expected to compete in the meet. Competitors from Augustana, University of Sioux Falls, Minnesota State (Mankato), Wayne State, Concordia-St. Paul, Morningside, Dakota State, Dakota Wesleyan, Briar Cliff, Mount Marty, Northwestern (IA) and Dordt are expected in the meet.
