Outdoor Track & Field: Four Trojans made national qualifying marks for NAIA Nationals

Vance Butler Invitational Results
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Dakota State University outdoor track and field teams competed in the Vance Butler Invitational, hosted by NCAA Division II Augustana College, last Thursday at the Howard Wood Field. Four individuals made national qualifying marks for NAIA Nationals.
Danielle Rowe placed second in the women's high jump. She earned an automatic bid for NAIA Nationals as she cleared the high jump measure of five feet and six inches.
Donna Lavea made a NAIA provisional mark in the women's shot put. She captured the title with a new DSU school record of 42 feet.
Andy Coy finished second in the men's 800-meter run with a time of one minute and 54.17 seconds. He recorded a provisional qualifying mark for NAIA Nationals. Cody Foreman was third in 1:56.54.
Matt Fideler placed third in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase. He finished with a time of 9:36.50 and notched a NAIA Nationals' provisional qualifying mark.
Tyler Van Peursem won the men's 1500-meter run with a time of 3:58.23. Devon Berkness was eighth in 4:10.12.
Berkness was third in the men's 3000-meter run in 8:58.48.
Brittany Pearson finished fifth in the women's discus throw with a measurement of 121 feet and eight inches.
Samantha Warnke was sixth in the women's 3000-meter steeplechase. She finished broke a new DSU school record time of 12:14.59.
Brittany Young placed sixth in the women's 800-meter run in 2:22.34.
Stacey Berg was sixth in the men's long jump. He finished with a measurement of 20 feet and 8.5 inches.
Stephanie Warnke recorded a seventh place finish in the women's 1500-meter run. She finished with a time of 5:01.83.
Allegra Kohley placed seventh in the women's javelin throw with a measurement of 97 feet and seven inches.
The women's 4 x 100-meter relay team finished fourth in 51.28 seconds. The men's was sixth in 43.95 seconds.
The men's 4 x 400-meter relay placed second with a time of 3:20.14. The women's finished fifth in 4:08.44.
Dakota State will compete in the Northwestern (IA) Invitational on Saturday. The meet will be held in Orange City, Iowa.
