Trojan Men's Basketball signs five recruits

The Dakota State University men's basketball head coach Gary Garner would like to announce the letter-of-intent signings of Jesse Bean, Jordan King, Jordan Snyder, Terran Chapin and Russ Hendrickson.  They will join the Trojan men's basketball team in the late fall.

Bean, 6'1" and 170 lbs. guard, is a transfer from Peninsula Junior College in Port Angeles, Wash. He averaged 17 points per game and was named to All-Conference team. During Bean's tenure in high school, he was selected as Alaska player of the year, two-time region most valuable player and was named to first team All-State. "We are very excited to have a player like Jesse," said Garner. "He is a true point guard that can score." Jesse is the son of Doug and Margaret Bean of Wasilla, Alaska.

King, 6'1" and 180 lbs. guard, will join the Trojan men's basketball team after a three-year stint at NCAA Division II Northern State. He averaged 4.8 points and dished out 4.5 per game last season for the Wolves. In high school at Arlington, King was named to All-State two times and was named to Brookings All-Register team for four years. Garner stated, "Jordan is a point guard that can also play the off guard position. He is going to be a big part of our team." Jordan is the son of Ron and Jo King of Arlington, S.D.

Snyder, 6'6" and 200 lbs., comes from West Central High School. He averaged 17 points per game and was named to third team All-State and first team All-Conference. Snyder was selected as team's defensive most valuable player. "Jordan is a complete player that can play inside and out," emphasized Garner. "He is a very good defensive player that will add some toughness to our team." Jordan is the son of Jayson and Lana Snyder of Hartford, S.D.

Chapin, 5'9" and 160 lbs., graduated from Arlington High School. He averaged 19.5 points and five assists for the Cardinals. Chapin was named to first team All-Conference and Brookings All-Register. "Terran is a very good athlete who has the potential to be a very good player for us," said Garner. Terran is the son of Chris Chapin of Arlington, S.D.

Hendrickson, 6'5" and 185 lbs., comes from Flandreau High School. During his senior year in high school, he averaged 23 points and eight rebounds per game for the Fliers. Hendrickson was selected to first team All-Conference and second team All-State. "Russ is a tremendous scorer that can really shoot the ball with range," stated Garner. Russ is the son of Travis and Donna Hendrickson of Flandreau, S.D.
