Six Trojans named Daktronics-NAIA Track and Field Scholar Athletes

MARION, Ind. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released its 2010 Daktronics-NAIA Track and Field Scholar Athletes after the conclusion of the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championship meet. Six athletes from Dakota State had received this prestigious honor.
A total of 548 student-athletes were recognized by the NAIA for their work in the classroom. Student-athletes are nominated by their head coach and must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status to qualify.
The six Trojan athletes that received this award are (year in school - hometown - parents' name):
- Clarice Bauer - senior - Madison, S.D. - Bruce and Karen Bauer
- Tyler Van Peursem - senior - Sioux Falls, S.D. - Kevin and Shelly Van Peursem
- Samantha Warnke - senior - Fairfax, S.D. - Tim and Brenda Warnke
- Brandi Gau - junior - Avon, S.D. - Bruce and Jackie Gau
- Amy Pheneger - junior - Champlin, Minn. - Jeff and Angie Pheneger
- Jerad Schlobohm - junior - Aurora, S.D. - Paul and Zelda Schlobohm
