Three DSU teams earned NAIA Scholar Team award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the NAIA scholar teams award Tuesday.  Three Dakota State University teams earned this honor.

For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution.  The team grade point average must include all varsity student-athletes certified as eligible.

The Trojan women's cross country team earned a team GPA of 3.56.  The DSU women's volleyball team recorded a GPA of 3.52 and the women's track and field team has a GPA of 3.52.

A record total of 857 teams received NAIA Scholar Team awards, an increase over last year's total of 837.
