Trojan men's basketball releases 2010-11 schedule

DSU MBB Head Coach Gary GarnerMADISON, S.D. - Dakota State University second-year men's basketball head coach Gary Garner has released the Trojans' 2010-11 schedule.  The season will be highlighted by 12 home games.  The Trojans will play three different classics, including a home classic in honor of DSU's long-time men's basketball coach Ed Harter.

Dakota State will open their 2010-11 campaign in the Dakota Wesleyan/Fulton State Bank Classic on the last weekend of October in the Corn Palace in Mitchell, S.D.  The Trojans will face Graceland (IA) at 6 p.m. on Oct. 29.  On Oct. 30, DSU will face their in-state rival Dakota Wesleyan at 6 p.m.

The Trojans will play two teams from the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) in the University of Sioux Falls/Famous Dave's Classic on the first weekend of November.  DSU will play Morningside on Nov. 5 and USF on Nov. 6 at the Stewart Center in Sioux Falls, S.D.

DSU's home opener will be on Nov. 9 in a women's/men's doubleheader with Dordt (IA).  The men's are expected to play at approximately 8 p.m. or 25 minutes following the completion of the women's game.

The annual Ed Harter Classic, hosted by Dakota State University, will be held on Nov. 12 and 14.  The Trojans will welcome a pair of in-state rival teams, Dakota Wesleyan on Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. and USF on Nov. 14 at 4 p.m.

Dakota State will play an exhibition game with NCAA Division II Augustana College in Sioux Falls on Nov. 26.  The Trojans travel to NCAA Division II Wayne State on Nov. 28 in Wayne, Neb.

The Trojans open their Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) schedule on Dec. 3 on the road at Mayville State.

The DAC postseason tournament is set to start on Feb. 23.  The semifinals will take place on Feb. 27 with the championship game set on March 1.  The NAIA Division II Men's Basketball National Championship will take place on March 9 to March 15 in Point Lookout, Mo.
