DSU women's basketball announces 2010-11 schedule

MADISON, S.D. - Dakota State University women's basketball head coach Joe Reints has announced the Trojans' 2010-11 schedule. The season will be highlighted by 13 home games plus trips to NCAA Division II schools Minnesota State-Mankato and Augustana and NCAA Division I North Dakota State for Trojans' exhibition game.
The Trojans will open the season with a pair of home games at the DSU Field House. DSU will face two teams from the Great Plains Athletic (GPAC), starting on Nov. 2 versus in-state rival Dakota Wesleyan and Nov. 9 with Dordt (IA).
Dakota State will begin a stretch of eight road games, starting on Nov. 13 where they face Northwestern (IA) in Orange City, Iowa. Northwestern is the defending NAIA Division II Women's Basketball champions. The Trojans will play two exhibition games during the stretch at NCAA Division II Minnesota State-Mankato on Nov. 23 and Augustana on Nov. 29.
DSU opens their Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) season on Dec. 3 on the road to Mayville State.
The Trojans return home for a four-game home stand, starting on Dec. 6 versus in-state rival Mount Marty of the GPAC.
Dakota State will play their final exhibition game with NCAA Division I North Dakota State of the Summit League on Dec. 20 in Fargo, N.D.
The DAC postseason tournament is set to start on Feb. 23. The semifinals take place on Feb. 27 with the championship game set on March 1. The NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship will take place on March 9 to March 15 in Sioux City, Iowa.
