Trojans pick to finish seventh in DAC Football preseason poll

DACDICKINSON, N.D. - Defending conference co-champions Dickinson State and Minot State sit one and two in the Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) preseason football coaches' poll.  Dakota State was picked to finish seventh.

The Blue Hawks received five first-place votes to edge the Beavers out for the top spot.  Minot State picked up the other three first-place ballots.

Black Hills State placed third in the poll, followed by Jamestown College, South Dakota School of Mines and Valley City State.  Mayville State picked to finish last.

Dakota State finished the 2009 season with a 2-7 overall record and 2-6 in the DAC conference.  The Trojans defeated Mayville State twice last season.

The Trojans, under second-year head coach Josh Anderson, will open their 2010 season at home against Midland Lutheran College of the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) on Saturday.  The game will be held at the Trojan Field at 7 p.m.

The poll was conducted by the DAC.
