DSU men's runners ranks first, women's sixth in weekly conference rankings

The first Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) weekly rankings had been released on Monday. The Trojan men's runners maintained their ranking at the top. The DSU women's team dropped from third to sixth in the rankings.
Dakota State men's runners captured their first meet of the season on Sept. 3 at the Dakota Wesleyan Invitational in Mitchell, S.D. The Trojans placed three runners in the top three and five runners in the top 10.
Black Hills State ranks second, followed by South Dakota School of Mines third, Dickinson State fourth and Minot State fifth. Valley City State and Jamestown are tied for sixth place.
On the women's side, the Trojans did not field a complete team at the Dakota Wesleyan Invitational on Sept. 3. DSU had three runners competed at the meet and Samantha Drealan placed fifth.
Black Hills State ranks first, followed by Minot State second, Jamestown third, Dickinson State fourth and South Dakota School of Mines fifth. Dakota State is sixth and Valley City State ranks seventh.
The NAIA Cross Country National Poll will be released on Wednesday (Sept. 15).
Dakota State returns home on Saturday (Sept. 18) as they host the DSU/Herb Blakely Invitational at the Madison Country Club. The women's race will start at 10:30 a.m. with the men's to follow at approximately 11:10 a.m.
