Trojan Football opens DAC Conference play on road Saturday
September 15, 2010
The Dakota Athletic Conference football season will kick off on Saturday afternoon. The Trojan football team will travel to Dickinson, N.D. to take on the Blue Hawks of Dickinson State. Kickoff is slated at 2:30 p.m. (CT)/1:30 p.m. (MT). The game will be held on the new football field at the Badland Activities Center called Fisher Field. It features the only artificial turf field in western North Dakota.
Dakota State is 0-2 overall record after suffering defeats from Midland Lutheran (38-7) and NCAA Division III No. University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (70-7). Dickinson State won two straight home games over Rocky Mountain of Montana (25-21) and Concordia-Moorhead (Minn.) (29-24).
Dickinson State is ranked in the first edition of the 2010 NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25 Poll. After being ranked at No. 18 in the NAIA's preseason national poll, the Blue Hawks rank at No. 13. Dickinson State tallied 237 points. No other DAC teams are ranked in the top 25 poll.
