Trojan men's runners remain first, women's sixth in DAC's weekly rankings

The Dakota State University men's cross country team remained first for the third straight week in the DAC's cross country weekly rankings. The Trojan women's team stayed in sixth place.
The Trojan men's runners claimed the DSU/Herb Blakely Invitational team title on Sept. 18 at the Madison Country Club. Dakota State placed five runners in the top 10. The Trojan men's team is ranked No. 17 (tied with Simon Fraser, B.C.) in the latest NAIA Men's Cross Country National Poll. The third edition of the "Top 25" rankings will be released on Wednesday (tomorrow).
Black Hills State is second, followed by South Dakota School of Mines third, Jamestown fourth, Minot State fifth, Dickinson State sixth and Valley City State seventh in the men's conference weekly rankings.
On the women's side, the Trojan women's runners placed third in the DSU/Herb Blakley Invitational. Stephanie Warnke won the individual title. Samantha Drealan was fifth.
Black Hills State ranks first in the DAC women's weekly rankings. Minot State is second followed by Jamestown third, South Dakota School of Mines fourth and Dickinson State fifth. Valley City State is seventh.
Dakota State's cross country teams will head on the road on Saturday. The Trojans will compete in the Roy Griak/University of Minnesota Invitational that features top teams in the Midwest region. The women's race starts at 9:45 a.m. with the men's to follow.
