DSU runners prepare for tough Roy Griak meet Saturday

Dakota State University women's and men's cross country teams will be preparing for their tough meet of the season on Saturday. The Trojans compete in the Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by University of Minnesota. The meet will be held at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in St. Paul, Minn.
The meet will feature the top teams from the nation that includes NCAA Division II and ranked teams in the NAIA. There is an estimated of 300 individuals each in the women's and men's races.
The women's race starts at 9:50 a.m. The race's distance will be 6000-meters instead of the traditional 5000-meter run. Dakota State, Black Hills State, Jamestown and Minot State are the four DAC schools that are included in the 30-team race.
On the men's side, the race starts at approximately 11:30 a.m. The men's field features tough teams that include four ranked teams - NCAA Division II No. 9 Augustana (S.D.) and NAIA's No. 9 Concordia (Neb.), No. 16 Azusa Pacific (Calif.) and No. 22 Dakota State. Black Hills State, Jamestown and Minot State are the other DAC members that will be competing in the meet.
