Trojan runners compete at Roy Griak meet Saturday

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Dakota State University women's and men's cross country teams ran in the Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by University of Minnesota, Saturday at the Les Bolstad Golf Course. The Trojans competed with schools from NCAA Division II and top quality schools in the NAIA.
DSU men's team placed 11th as a team out of 28 teams. NCAA Division II No. 9 Augustana (S.D.) captured the team title with 60 points. The Trojans scored 326 points. A total of 334 runners ran in the 8K men's race.
Devon Berkness placed 25th with a time of 26 minutes and 31.5 seconds. Andy Coy was 28th in 26:34.8. Matt Fideler ran a time of 26:37.4 for a 31st place finish.
Other DSU place finishers are Thomas Kjerengtroen (153rd - 28:13.3), Michael Hoffman (170th - 28:27.6), John Bintliff (192nd - 28:46.7), Kace Groff (243rd - 29:39.2), Keith Huffman (257th - 29:58.9) and Andrew Manning (258th - 30:00.0).
On the women's side, three Trojans placed in the meet. A total of 287 runners ran the 6K course instead of the traditional 5K race.
Stephanie Warnke placed 52nd with a time of 24:09.6 for the Trojans. Samantha Drealan finished 147th in 25:24.8. Carissa Holtrop was 270th with a time of 29:32.8.
Dakota State will have a week off before returning back to action on Saturday, Oct. 9. The Trojans compete in the Briar Cliff Invitational in McCook Lake, S.D.
