Trojan Football returns home Saturday versus Minot State

The Dakota State University Trojan football team returns home Saturday as they welcome the Beavers of Minot State. Kickoff is slated for 1:30 p.m. at Trojan Field. Parents' Day will be recognized during the game. The tailgate area on the east side of the parking lot at the Trojan Field will be available by 10:30 a.m.
Dakota State is in their search for their first win of the season. The Trojans' overall record is 0-5 and 0-3 in the DAC conference. Minot State is 3-2 overall and 3-0 in the conference. Minot State has won three straight games after starting the season 0-2.
Minot State and Dakota State probably will meet for one final time this year. Minot State will be making their transition to NCAA Division II next year. Dakota State will make their transition to NAIA independent, starting in 2011-12 season.
In both teams' last meeting on Oct. 3, 2009 in Minot, N.D., the Beavers jumped to a 21-0 first quarter lead to defeat the Trojans 38-6.
As of Thursday afternoon, the weather forecast in Madison, S.D. predicts partly cloudy skies and warm. Temperatures will be in the upper 70's and lower 80's.
