DSU Volleyball begins DAC's second half this weekend

The Dakota State University Trojan volleyball team will start their second half of the DAC conference schedule this weekend.
The Trojans travel to Rapid City, S.D. on Friday night to take on South Dakota School of Mines at 8 p.m. (CT)/7 p.m. (MT). On Saturday afternoon, DSU will visit Black Hills State in Spearfish, S.D. First serve is slated for 4 p.m. (CT)/3 p.m. (MT).
Dakota State is in a three-way tie for fifth place in the DAC standings. The Trojans are 8-16 overall record and 2-5 in the conference. SD School of Mines' overall record is 9-11 and 2-5 in the DAC. Black Hills State is 9-15 overall and 4-3 in the conference.
The Hardrockers won the first meeting on Sept. 18 at the DSU Fieldhouse in Madison, S.D. SD School of Mines won in four sets by the scores of 24-26, 25-23, 25-15 and 25-18. The Hardrockers outhit the Trojans 55-35 and .270-.171 in the match.
Black Hills State took the first meeting from the Trojans on Sept. 17 in Madison, S.D. The Yellow Jackets won by the scores of 25-17, 15-25, 26-24 and 25-22. BHSU outhit DSU 41-34, but the Trojans had a better killing efficiency (.183-.101).
Jamestown remained atop in the DAC volleyball weekly rankings. The Jimmies are undefeated in the first half of DAC conference play. Jamestown had won 32 straight conference matches. Dickinson State ranks second followed by Black Hills State.
