Trojans seek first football conference win Saturday

The Dakota State University Trojan football team battles with Valley City State for the first DAC conference win of the season on Saturday afternoon.  The game will take place at Lokken Field in Valley City, N.D.  Kick-off is slated for 1:30 p.m.

Dakota State's overall record is 0-6.  Valley City State is 1-5 overall record.  The Vikings' lone win of the season was on their season opener on Aug. 28 in a 44-0 rout over Trinity Bible College.  Both teams are winless in four DAC conference games.

Both teams are looking to end their losing streak.  Currently, Dakota State is on a six-game losing streak while Valley City State is on a five-game losing streak.

In both teams' last meeting of the season on Oct. 10, 2009 at the Trojan Field in Madison, S.D., Valley City State grabbed a 12-3 halftime lead.  The Vikings scored another touchdown in the fourth quarter to make it 19-3.  The Trojans were held scoreless in the second half.  Valley City State had 327 rushing yards compared to the Trojans' 23 yards.

As of Thursday afternoon, the weather forecast in Valley City, N.D. predicts mostly sunny skies.  Temperatures will be in the upper 50's and lower 60's.
