Trojan Men's Basketball team plays DSU Alumni Saturday

Gary GarnerThe Dakota State University men's basketball team will play an alumni game on Saturday, Oct. 23 at the DSU Fieldhouse.  Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m.

The Trojan men's basketball team returns five players from last year's team - Brad Martin, Kedric Johnson, Santino Clay, Spencer Adams and Bryce Snyder.  DSU adds two transfers from NCAA Division II schools - Jordan King from Northern State University and Mike Larsen from Northwest Missouri State University.  There will be eight new freshmen to the team - Arop Biong, Terran Chapin, Russ Hendrickson, Domach Khai, Brady Roby, Jordan Snyder, Mitchell Trestrail and Chason Woods.

The DSU Alumni team features most players from 2004-05 team that finished second in the Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) and fell one point short of qualifying for NAIA National Tournament in the DAC semifinals.  The 2004-05 Trojan men's basketball team had an overall record of 15-15 and 12-6 in the conference.  The alumni members includes NAIA All-American Honorable Mention Joe Backus, current assistant coach Ian McKeithen, former DAC Senior of the Year Ryan Burggraff, Anthony Scott, Shaun Wisdom, Brett Gardner, Brandon Carr, DeAndre Andrews, Derek Powell, James Bothel and Jackson Parr.

Dakota State men's basketball team opens their 2010-11 campaign in the Dakota Wesleyan University/Fulton State Bank Classic on Oct. 29-30 at the Corn Palace in Mitchell, S.D.
